생명체를 구성하는 주 성분은 약 96%가 산소, 탄소, 수소, 질소이다. 재는 저 성분들이 산화되고 남은 무기물들로 구성이 되어 있다. 즉 생명체는 죽어서도 흔적을 남긴다. 나는 재를 이용한 작업을 통해 우리가 남긴 그리고 남길 것들에 대해 말하려 한다. 죽음은 무언가의 끝이자 무엇이든 될 수 있는 시작이기도 하다. 나는 이 작업을 통해 질문한다. 우리는 무엇을 남길 것인가?

The primary components of living organisms consist of approximately 96% oxygen, carbon, hydrogen, and nitrogen. Ash is composed of the inorganic remnants left behind after these elements oxidize. In other words, living beings leave traces even in death. Through my work with ash, I aim to explore what we leave behind and what we will continue to leave behind. Death marks the end of something but also serves as a beginning for anything. With this work, I ask: What will we leave behind?

Die Hauptbestandteile von Lebewesen bestehen zu etwa 96 % aus Sauerstoff, Kohlenstoff, Wasserstoff und Stickstoff. Asche setzt sich aus den anorganischen Überresten zusammen, die nach der Oxidation dieser Elemente zurückbleiben. Mit anderen Worten: Lebewesen hinterlassen selbst im Tod Spuren. Durch meine Arbeit mit Asche möchte ich untersuchen, was wir hinterlassen und auch in Zukunft hinterlassen werden. Der Tod markiert das Ende von etwas, ist aber auch ein Anfang für alles Mögliche. Mit dieser Arbeit stelle ich die Frage: Was werden wir hinterlassen?
